Day 3, 4

Day 3 I wasn't traveling at all, I was busy working, However on the forth day I managed to go to a town not far from Barcelona called Lloret de Mar. It is a new town located just near the seashore, with wonderful forests at the same time. There are a lot of hotels there for every type of traveler.

... and very promising until we got out of the car and explored. The village is obviously quite new, and rents must be high, as the prices were high too! How disappointing. We returned to the car with time on our hands and made a decision to visit Tossa De Mar.

When we returned to L'Escala after a day in Barcelona, we went in search of a restaurant for dinner (it was only 10.30 after all and diners were just arriving). Although L’Escala has a lot of shops, many only open during the high season – however there seemed to be quite a few restaurants so we headed to one on the waterfront where we had pizzas (Milly’s was an interesting seafood combination including mussels still in their shells ...

... Chris had arranged accommodation for us at Salt, near Girona airport and somewhat closer to Barcelona, where the plan was to spend the following day. We went into the office and met the Manager, and attempted to explain the situation – he had very little English, (and we had yet to learn any Spanish beyond Hola) and promptly gave us the key for our unit and escorted us to it. ... and also you can do a lot of activities. So we thought that we could speak about our surroundings that we know very well and perhaps that can help the people who wants to visit our region.

escribo esto tirado en las playas catalanes. A la derecha, la muralla.
A la izquierda, la Minerva. Es la playa principal de Tossa de Mar,
medirá aproximadamente 200 metros de extencion y de la calle al mar
habrá unos 100 metros.
Esta muy bueno acá, hay sol pero no molesta, hace calor pero no
agobiante.

... Sea just peaked out! The sun was glittering on it, as well as all the white houses with red roofs (and one with eggs). We walked from Portlligat to Cadaques, another beautiful little coast village. (On the walk over I was talking to some girls who are also unbelievably excited for New Moon. Like I said, it's the small things that lead to happiness!)

In Cadaques I watched the big waves surge above the walkway and ate Crema Catalunya gelatto ...

... to completion. Amazing place. Full concrete factory inside the church and spending around 1 million euro per month on construction (but bringing in 50M Euro pa from tourists)

Sitting on the balcony now having caviar, beer and cheese with my sister and wife....does not get much better than this for our annivesary!!!

... tip). I walk to the beach, use a flight bag to cover it, lock it and use a special steel cord that I have to attach it to a parking chain, just below a bridge. Anyone with a sharp knife and intent could steal it. But, it is so large that it would be very obvious. I change clothes at the beach and spend the day walking around.

Sleeping on the sand fully clothed was a new one for us and were forced to wake up by the sun rise. As the sun got higher in the sky we seemed to get more and more lazy until we just decided to stay another night. I´m 22 and still havent managed to learn the sun tan lotion lesson.
