... organised to show me some of the sights around Pretoria. One of them is a place called the Ann van Dyk Cheetah center, a conservation park for animals about 30 minutes drive from Pretoria, and named after Ann van Dyk who has devoted her life to the protection and preservation of the cheetah species. They have all sorts of animals here such as Meerkats, Honey badgers, birds, and of course, cheetahs. A cool story was that the King Cheetah, a recessive gene breed of ...

Enjoy your long weekend.

... getting the group together, sorting food out, buying grog and other essentials for the trip, checking the vehicles over and getting them ready for our safari.

In amongst all that we grabbed some time to see a few of the sites. This year we finally got to the Elephant Sanctuary, which is out near the Hartbeespoort Dam, about an hour and a bit drive from the Farm Inn. Here they take elephants that could be ...

... and the manager, Allen who took us around and let us in the cages with them. Finally my vet degree is letting me do some cool **** haha! But what a way to end our trip to South Africa and Madagascar. We have been really fortunate with seeing, touching, swimming and even riding animals on this trip (but don’t worry none of them were ever harmed lol). Regrettably though once we got home we had to pack up the Micro machine and say good-bye to ...
