It reminded me of the time we took our rental car on a goat path in Crete. On the map, it sure looked like a road to me. And besides, it wasn't my car then and it's not my car now.

It must have been quite a job to build this in the 1930's - all the concrete, steel and water had to be carried to the mountain tops and desolate valleys......it's a tremendous and brave piece of engineering and it ran for 70 years. With a bit of grease would probably run again....... I wish we'd seeing it ...

... had a few national holidays. Nito, a friend of Tenteleni who we met in our first week, has done an amazing job of fundraising and building an orphanage in a neighbouring township. So, as we had several days free, we volunteered and helped to paint, move rubble, plant and put in glass windows. (I personally did not do the latter) Was good fun, especially as the children who will stay in the orphanage were there as well as an American family. A fair bit ...
