I really like LA. The weather, the culture and diversity of restaurants. Santa Monica, Hollywood, Rodeo Drive. It's a spectacular city. I spent 3 weeks there in 1984 and I have enjoyed going back ever since.

We walked home from the subway and went via a supermarket to get American confectionary items such as Reeces pieces, Twizzlers and Hershey's.

We had a great first day! Off to Universal today which I'm sure I will enjoy!!

    Love you all xxx

Sadly the modern art was pretty awful but the masters contained an attractive mix of Impressionists and Old Masters. Over the road we went to see the graves of the stars - and ...

Despite much advice to the contrary, and even after two stops, we sailed into LA at 11.30 - a little over five and a half hours drive. Woo hoo!!! Damn the critics I say.
