Joe took us through the streets of Gozo, avoiding the roadblocks in the capital of Victoria, set up for a mass meeting organised by the Government according to our driver. I tried to ascertain the reason for the meeting but Joe didn’t seem forthcoming or interested in discussing local politics, he was more frustrated that his usual routes were crowded with traffic avoiding ...

The guard took my permit and came back a few minutes later saying that they wouldn’t stamp my passport unless I had a work contract.
