... given a treasure hunt type thing to do, which was fun. We went around the place twice. Everything was very rich, there were original paintings, mirrors and chandeliers. It looked like the royal family had popped out for a cup of tea and would be back in a few moments. There were many different rooms, and some I'd kill to have. The decoration was superbly done. the details were incredible. Winesuit is around 200-300 years old.
We didn't show you too much of the wooden churches we saw in Slovakia. They were beautiful though, quite different from the ones in Romania, therefore different in another way.
And guess what: at the other side of the border, here inn Poland, perhaps 100 kilometers away, they have them too! And also here, they cherish them, restore them, get them UNESCO protected, create tourist routes past them. And also here, we visit ...
... school for several years but, like the Lancut Synagogue, it has now been returned to the Jewish Community and is being restored.
Beside the Big Synagogue is the small synagogue - now in private hands. On the main road is a large Guild Hall building, currently used as a dance school, but built in the late 19th century, long after Solomon had left the area.

... There is a marked difference in the quality of the roads between Poland and everywhere that we have ridden since we left Turkey. It makes for a much more comfortable ride and hopefully fewer problems with the bikes.
