... The Hungarian nights charged at the Mongol soldiers and just as they reached them the Mongols on their very nimble little horses divided and road around each flank of the Hungarian Knights and before they could do anything the Mongols had slaughtered them from behind. The castle fell to the Mongols.

We spent about an hour walking the castle and climbing to its highest point for a view of the Danube river below and the settlements on the far bank.

It would seem that the benefit of travelling just before the holiday season starts means thereis no need to book but also means not too much infrastructure is open. Purple and yellow flowers line the edge of the grassy granite path as we venture upon the mountain ridge towards Mt Chleb. The fresh alpine air cleanses my lungs from the metropolis's stain. I sigh a grand relief as I view distant towns, ahhhhhh. Arriving at our camp at the foot of the high tatras (the mountain range between Slovakia and Poland) we pitch our tent and admire the beauty. ...

... a while, before deciding to head back down the mountain and back to the hostel to get changed and go swimming in the pool which was opposite. Not only was this a pool, but it had water slides and there was also a sauna which you could pay a little bit extra to go to. We opted to pay the little bit extra. We spent two hours here, making use of the slides, the rapids, the hot tubs, the swimming and the sauna. It was brilliant. We had a lot of laughs ...
