... estruendo...

Japan, Japan sultanaviajes... some money on cab fare. Hopefully I can remember to ride on the left side of the street and the other vehicles remember to do the same. I'm also hoping that the rumors of English-speaking guides are true.

Adjusting my expectations... I had thought I'd zip through the castle and get to Kyoto early. Probably not. Everything takes longer than you think.

Matsumoto, Chubu, Japan asci... ones were burning hot. It was very relaxing and you could see a nice view of the valley and the monkeys hopping about around you. As we were right at the bottom of the valley we could see people really high above us but they couldnt see us very well, which was only a good thing. We then went back to the park and stayed for a while longer before getting the bus and train to Nagano, the main city of that ...
Yudunaka, Chubu, Japan markandcharAlright, so I ended up getting roughly an hour of sleep, but I think it was less since I kept waking up. I let one of the Japanese kids sleep in my room since he was locked out and ended up on the couch and then trying to sleep in one of the classrooms. After Nanami and I stayed up talking all night, I really didn't want to sleep that much. It was a lot to digest, but it was a lot of fun. Breakfast came and went and then we had a final Q&A ...
Mt. Fuji, Japan maillette.c... about each others culture. There were so many questions, confusion, and I think in the end, a bit of enlightenment. I still don't understand the culture completely and feel as if I never will. I don't think an outsider is privileged to such information. Regardless, I think our talk formed a strong bond and I hope we have more like it in the future.
Mt. Fuji, Japan maillette.c... I was wrong--we entered a tunnel on one side of a mountain to cloudy green landscape and existed, at the same altitude of the other side to a completely white world, including snow driving almost horizontal. So I had hoped that being situated behind a mountain range, the low, rainy/snowy clouds would be stopped from Kamikochi. Turns out this is only half true--the West facing mountains didn't stop the storm front, but the Eastern ones did, meaning that the storm came over ...
Kamikochi, Kanto, Japan mchao... So good and I ate them ravenously and shamelessly like a street urchin in the station waiting room. Hoped the rain would lighten but arrived in Matsumoto to even more rain and having to drag my bag wet through the streets to the ryokan was not fun, to say the least. But the ryokan is quite nice--a typical Japanese style room with clean tatami, tea pot, and gleaming hard wood floors. And freezing in my room because the heat is always off until ...
