... arrived home around 6 I think and we chatted for a couple of hours before heading out for tea at the pub down the road. It's so strange here because when I think of a pub I always think of the stone built little country pub or the Otley town type pub. The pubs here are not what we would call a pub. It's hard to describe really as I don't think we really have anything similar at home. Most pubs are attached to a pokies (a betting shop) or a bottle-o (alcohol shop). The pubs ...

    Arrive at Karon Beach

Flew from Mascot to Phuket. Was supposed to depart 1:10pm, but Jetstar's plane delayed.
We didn't board till 5:30pm. Lots of being messed around by Jetstar. Told there were delays but could not let us know when we would fly. It turned out there was a problem with our plane and Jetstar eventually they gave us a 787 that was due to fly to Honolulu. Not happy Jan. Lots of disgruntle customers, wanting to know what was going on. Arrived at about ...

With a coastal walk and other beaches in the vicinity I wanted to explore and Vicky reluctantly came along. We initially passed a wedding party who's service was out in the park next to the marina - it was a nice spot but anyone and everyone could walk by. We headed up to the Southern Headland Heritage Walk which gave you great views of the cliffs initially ...

... we got to talking about vacations and how we all enjoy them. I said we tease our kids and say we are spending our kids inheritances. They laughed and said they call them ski vacations which stand for spending kids inheritances! I really like that, I do enjoy my ski vacations and plan on taking many more! So after dinner we went back to our stateroom and sat on our balcony, sipping champagne. We watched the Queen Mary2 pull out, there were many other small boats in the harbor near us ...

Well, surprised at discovering we survived the night before we did not waste our day. We walked to the ferry port and took the 25 minute sail to Manly beach named (though I am normally too coy to mention it) after me. Seeing Sydney from the water shows how it really is a special city, made up of many different coves and bays which prevented the villages from morphing into one huge city as happens everywhere else. In Manly we saw ...
