Hey everyone!
Haven't had a very eventful week, but thought I’d keep you guys posted anyways! The week didn’t start off that well (Ipod broke, lost my USB key, got another stupid eye infection, my boss’ true colors came out, etc), but I’ve had a really great weekend!
I went out drinking on Friday night with Sonia and a group of her old schoolmates (about 12 girls total), after which we met up with ...
... at the inn for boys! We had to book a motel quite a bit out of the centre for more than we would like to pay. Once we had accommodation organised, we went back to book the bus. The bus we wanted was filled so we couldn't leave until the later bus which meant a late arrival in Canberra. That put an end to meeting the relatives and we were stuck in Canberra for 3 expensive, non-refundable, nights! All reports of Canberra were to give it a miss ...

To the east, Norfolk and Lord Howe Islands are governed from Australia, as is the Antarctic holding based around Mawson. It is the driest continent on earth with around 1/3rd considered desert. It is approximately 3,700 km. long (north to south) and 4,000 kilometres wide. The mainland section is roughly divided in the east by the Great Dividing Range which lies inland from the eastern seaboard and runs from the Cape York Peninsula in ...

The next leg (from TA4 to TA5) was a straight ride leg, visiting a few checkpoints along the way which included locating codes in various underpasses. Along Anzac Parade, we needed to write, in two words, what each memorial on the east side was for. Although this sounds easy, it is quite difficult to sum up a memorial in two words!

... interesting facts and space memorabilia (including a moon rock returned by the Apollo astronauts). But the most fascinating part is that you can listen to the stars' "chatter" as a special device converts the electromagnetic waves captured by the dishes (and considered background "noise" coming from all the stars of our galaxy) and converts them into audible signals for our human ear to hear, a veritable symphony of the stars. G's only regret was that he could ...

We entered the modern stone building, opened in 1988 and the interior was finished in marble. As both houses were sitting, the House of Representatives and the upper Senate, we went into the visitor's galleries of each and listened for a few minutes. The houses, as indeed the ...

Our hostel is called the Arts Factory, and it's buzzing with activity and creativity - every day i can take a didjeridoo lesson, learn Hula dancing, firedancing, play guitar, take a "Bush Tucker" walk and learn the medicinal and nutritional and practical uses of about 20 plants, surf, paint, ride bike, or just sit and talk for hours in a hammock with so many interesting people. Or also party all day, as there are a lot of ...

It was somewhere in between a formal meal and an informal meal, and turned out to be great fun.
