Moving from Sydney to Christchurch was a bit of a culture shock but we are now settled into this town. Not a lot here andthe weather is drizzly but we had a pleasant few hours in the museum before going into the cathedral for the boys choir evensong. Tonight we saw a lovely film called An Education. After lengthy on hold phone calls to Abbey and Sam going down to Abbey we were eventually allowed access to our own money. So we celebrated by taking a bus out to Lyttleton which is 20 mins out of Christchurch. Had a lovely coastal walk and fantastic views. Sadly there were a lot of low clouds which blogged the complete range of mountains. Now back at the hotel. We pick up our motorhome on Monday and hit the road so not sure how often we will find an internet cafe when in the open countryside...

We left The Honest Lawyer (and you can bet that we both bought t-shirts), before heading into Nelson for a quick bite. Then, we hit the road to Christchurch. First, we travelled back through Blenheim, before stopping in Kaiakoura (sp?!) for "crayfish". However, despite being famous for crayfish, we had scallops and fish as there was no crayfish on offer! There was a VERY early start this morning because we both went to bed so early last night. At 5.30am, the lights finally went on.....we decide a cuppa was in order and then proceeded to watch "Barnyard" - a nickelodeon version of a disney movie. Next we knew, it was 7.30am. A stupid flight time sees us arrive in Christchurch New Zealand at about midnight, a 30 minute wait for a bus into town and we find some keys left for us by the backpackers and we check in for our first night on the, properly, other side of the world.
