      Lunch at Harpers Ferry where the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers converge, as do the states of West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland. A very old and historic town - could ramble for hours.

      Travelled via the pretty Catoctin Mountain area. We have had some great drives through the countryside, getting off the highways when we can.

      Ran out of time and had to miss a few ...

Today we spent the day in Koblenz...Joannne toured The Marksburg Castle.....the rest of the group took a personal tour of the area and rode the tramway up to the fortress.       ... with accurate records of the County including stuff about Sir Alexander Spottswood (Dodgy 18th century landowner), tobacco growth and of course the battle.

      Also got mistaken for an Irishman. So far only one person I've met has recognised the accent, but they all seem to have been there or have some ancestry.

      Jeez I'm glad today is passed and probably would have taken 2 days for these. The Rain didn't bother me too much.

      ... from the road will soon overtake this anxiety and leave me eager for all that is to come - the different languages, cultures, the fun of trying to eat vegetarian in a foreign country... All of it is why I love to travel. I know this trip will be worth all of the worry and axiety.
