We awake to a chilly yet sunny Granada morning and decide to bus it into town. We are accompanied for the day by Amanda and Gavin a Scottish couple currently living in Barcelona. Alighting from the bus in town, we head up the hill to the Alhambra, which turns out to be a wonderful visual experience comprising of extensive gardens and a number of interconnected palaces. ... but 'refreshing’)…..then a hot pool…..then the largest warm-water pool. They all have Corinthian columns and rounded arches around the pool , like a cloister, and a barrel vault overhead with 8-sided stars cut into the ceiling. They let out the steam, lighten the roof weight, and let in shafts of sunlight. The place does have atmosphere. Underground tile pipes of hot water keep the floor ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands thedicksonsToday is a holiday in Granada, in order to celebrate the religious aspects of Corpus Christi. They definately take this holiday seriously. The crowds were double what they were yesterday. We were all packed like sardines! It was hot and uncomfortable at times. Some people were even passing out and had to be escorted to the nearby ambulance for medical ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands tpelaia... very amazing place, and fortunately the program is going back for the second semester with the second group of kids, so I get to go again. Its been so long since I've written I'm not sure if I even wrote out Salamanca. That is another town our entire program went to, and I absolutely loved it. Its college town feel was overwhelming. It was full of students, everywhere. I swear there was only 10 people in the town over the age of 30. Anyways ...

What has suprised me the most about Europe: How easily i can communicate What annoys me the ...

There was also not an option of nonalcoholic drinks-which all the bars here offer. The :"free" party ...

Granada, Spain uncle_davros... and tropic fruits, even more so I relished in the magnificent view of the formidable Alhambra with the snow clad Sierra Nevada in its background. Sure enough I got lost in the Albaycin. If it wasn't for the fact that I knew that downhill meant towards the city centre, I would probably still be walking around in Granada's white maze. It really was just a matter of picking the right windy road. My major ...
