Just down the road from Lava Butte was Benham Falls which we found at the end of a half mile walk.

Tomorrow we are going to explore the Columbia River Gorge.

... rather than hindered. I was chased by a thunderstorm all day with loud cracks of thunder at my rear through much of the day. I got sprinkled on only twice and It took me so much time to get decked out in rain gear that the rain was over 3 min. later. If this were "Deadliest Catch" and I had to get in my emergency water gear I'd be dead! The eastern Oregon citizens take their land rights seriously and I was warned by ...

... temperate rainforest home to some of Americas record breaking trees! Hopefully we will get to see some! We are in Hoquiam now just north of Aberdeen on the coast and just experienced our first Taco Bell! I still can't get over how many fast food places there are especially when they are off ering $5 meal deals including a desert! In Aberdeen alone we have spotted a Dairy Queen (burger) McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Denny's, Taco Bell, KFC and a subway not to mention ...
