... I rode around on one of the water bus boats last night for like an hour, sitting outside, freezing my **** off with a huge grin on my face.

Venice is gorgeous. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. This is one time when Vegas didn't get it quite right. You just can't replicate this place. Imagine walking down a normal suburban neighborhood, but everywhere you see cement or grass, replace it with water. It's almost impossible to imagine without seeing it, I think.

We got settled back on board and thought we better have something to settle the nerves so we had a few cocktails by the pool and not much time later I ripped up the divorce papers and we were once again happily married .We enjoyed a romantic spa with 10 German kids and then fell asleep on the deck in the sun for an afternoon siesta well time was marching on and I was time to get ready for Dinner as our Dinner time was 6.30pm each night ...

... Venice so it is huge and absolutely gorgeous, it looks out onto the Gran Canal and is very close to San Marco Plaza (the big plaza in the city). The house also happens to share a roof with the Gugenheim Museum so we were able to peek in there and poke around for a little while after we saw the house. Satie's parents, who were visiting for the week offered to take all of us out to lunch and so it was nice to have a meal paid for and not have to worry about every dollar I spent ...

... they don’t understand me guide) he was very sweet and took us down some of the backstreet canals away from the hustle and bustle… truly different from anything we have seen…. ADRs returned safe and sound to mainland and found a local resteronti and had authentic Pizza great .. Not much topping on Italian pizza.. Its all in the crust!! The motel was a bit Faulty Towers and strange but friendly enough and clean..

... saw some snow....not. Quite exhausted, me at the beginning of the day, and Stace at Dubai Airport - enjoying complimentary snacks at 2 in the morning.

After the wedding we spent a few days in Venice before flying home. This is one of the cities I wish I could walk around without anyone else there. I am sure it is much more beautiful without the hundreds of people on every little bridge. It was a lot of fun wandering around, getting lost and then finding a place to enjoy a glass of wine.

I then took a ride on one of the many Vaporettos (boats that work like a bus system on the canal) down the Grand Canal listening to my downloaded Rick Steve's audio guide that was excellent. Other sites for the day included: tons of churchs, St Marks Square & Basilica, Palazzo Ducale, a cool exhibit in which some of Leonardo da Vinci's plans has been made and worked, and I spent a lot of time wandering around ...

... until eventually arriving at Murano - similar to Burano in that it now seems to exist solely to support tourists, this time with glass making. There followed several hours (hours!) of peering at glassware in shop windows, shops, and the glass museum which I found dull beyond measure having oversold the "spectacular glassware" angle a little too hard. ... its home for mom and J.p and off to Greece for me tomorrow. I am getting excited, on tv here they have all these ads for Greece and other places like Croatia it really makes me want to travel. Hope everyone is doing well, and totally jealous that I am walking around in sandals and capris with no jacket (its even too hot for a light sweater!) Updates and photos coming from Greece soon!
