... exterior is covered with over 1000 bas reliefs including mythical animals, real animals. flowers etc. The interior is very plain because nothing remains of the interior decoration except one fresco.

It is very cold in Moscow now with the high being 36 degrees F. It is supposed to rain tomorrow, but we will see. Tonight we go to a private home for our dinner. Ought to be interesting.

Woke up and my throat was still sore. I guess at the very least it wasn't any worse. Had a big bowl of porridge and banana for breakfast before packing my gear. I then headed out to do a couple of last minute things. Sadly it was still raining. I grabbed some cash from the ATM and then went to the Apteka (pharmacy) to get something for my throat. I could say "I need something for pains of the..." but couldn't remember the word ...

... number the better the train, with those less than 100 being 'nice' - ours was 368 - a fair way outside the magic 100. That said it had everything usually found in a cabin; 4 beds, a small table, 2 ladders to the top bunk, storage bins for luggage under the bottom bunk. It was noticable what it didn't have though especially after 4 days; no conversion of the bed into seats, no aircon, no window which easily opened and let fresh air ...
