The Golden Gates, built in 1164 are the only preserved ancient Russian city gates and they mark what was once the western entrance to Vladimir.       ... had actually initiated a conversation with me, I obligingly got off at the next stop with her - leading to the female conductor giving me a "you've pulled mate" look, which worried me a little - to wait for her daughter to pick us up. When we were picked, the two of them started arguing about where the hostel was, ignoring my perfectly accurate directions.       ... I took the time to sit and admire the countryside which was visible behind said cathedral, where rivers stretched for miles and oceans of pine and other winter trees stood so thick. Hopefully by Monday I will have pictures of these fantastic places to show you guys, but with all being said I am enjoying this venture even though the bulk of it lays onward I am both eager and excited to share with everyone the tale as it unfolds,
