I'm living on the other side of the world; you'd think living beside the ocean, and a campus snuggled up against a mountain, going to a huge university, and seeing curvy red roofs everywhere would be the center of my day. I'm in China. This is the stuff of legends, of dynasties, of so many times gone by. You'd think, at least I thought, that the stuff I wrote home about would be grandiose and beautiful.

I'm just looking back on some of the fun moments of this trip through China. It has been a wonderful and exciting journey. It has been tough at times, for China can be an unforgiving country. It has also been sweet, innocent and an overwhelming feeling of home. The people I have met along the way on this, my 10th trip have been filled with humour, understanding and hospitality.
I have included yesterday's evening in Xiamen, after returning from the round houses into today's post. This brings me up-to-date and on the eve of my rail trip tonight that starts here in Xiamen and ends in Beijing 33 hours later!
