... dinner. We ended up renting "I Love You Man" through iTunes and allowed it to load while we headed to the main street near our hotel and ate some delicious kebabs. Ufortunately my banking situation has been totally screwed up this past week so Scott has had to foo bill for almost everything, though he commented that he did not mind paying for the kebabs at all because they were so simply delicious (the best I've certainly had in Europe). After dinner we went back ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands warrmb7... is typically Moorish; ornate archways, mosaicry, marble by the bucket load and water features everywhere. An absolutely enchanting and dramatic structure overlooking Granada. We spent the best part of the day there, and very much appreciated Amanda and Gavinīs jovial company (thanks guys). Following the Alhambra, we headed down into the old town and commenced a night of beers, accompanied by free tapas. Each round consisted of a beer with a ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain lymandannabelleThis weekend I went on an excursion to Granada with the study abroad group that I am with back from the states. I didnīt necessarily want my first visit to Granada to be with the group, but itīs all good. Granada is about 135km from Malaga or an hour and a half by bus. The first thing I noticed on the bus ride was that above and outside of Malaga the trees that have leaves were all changing colors. Itīs the middle of November and for the first time ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands skivail89... a terrific viewpoint of the Alhambra that mounts the adjacent hill. Beyond are the Sierra Nevada mountains, still spotted with white patches of snow. That’s ski country for Spaniards.
There are caves peppered all over the Albayzin – we walked by the heavy metal gates that lock out squatters – and headed back down the hill to an authentic 1000-year old Arab Bath. It was in the ...
... shops to choose
from, all containing basically the same merchandise, with varying
prices. I found some decent bargains and even something for myself.
Iīm at the school now, just waiting for my final class to start.
Afterwards, Iīll have to make dinner, pack and make sure I have
everything with me. Then, itīs off to Barcelona for 1 entire night!
I should have booked ...
... it anyways. I wish I could have been at home with everyone, but for a european thanksgiving, I couldn't imagine a better one. It was a little sad to miss the macy's day parade, and football. But who needs to see the Lions play another terrible game anyways, right? As far as everyday life goes, it just keeps getting better. We have made spanish friends, as well as french friends, who we communicate with in Spanish. My friend taylor and I ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands ryank5... of it if Iīm honest. I am struggling to find a friendly face - the people I have dealings with arenīt that friendly. But I have to remind myself - theyīre just selling you a bottle of water Adrianna, or driving you to the train station - I expect too much! Other travellers seem distant as well. I do not like sharing accommodation - a six room dorm at 14 euros sounds great, but stinks to high heaven!
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands peggywoo... tested into advanced, so i might have to change my classes for october around which will probably be a hassel, but we'll see. This weekend I will probably go to the beach again, and next tuesday we have a tour with our program of the albyzin. I have been looking into plane flights and would like to go to Hungary during my long break from school, but its hard to find flights ...
Granada, Spain mescalito... Irving " Tales of the Alhambra". It is stories he wrote when he lived at the Alhambra for a period back in the 1890's. Though the stories aren't as much about the palace itself, but about the people he came across while being there, he gives some good descriptions of this remarkable place and all of its unique details. Today had been an adventurous day. The Alhambra, its surroundings and views, are the kind of stuff that fairy tales are made of.
