Runway Inn Airport Miami Springs

The Nikki Beach Restaurant & Bungalow Resort, Koh Samui Thailand was the spot that we visited recently. There was immaculate service from all personal assistants at all times, they told us all the great spots to hang out and have dinner. The room, food and almost everything were nothing less than perfect. The nature was the friend of us. We simply could not ask anything better than that. These things meant the most to us and Nikki Beach will always be a part of our outing.

We are all set and ready to go. We just finished packing. My backpack (right) weights 33 lbs, Tine's backpack 22 lbs. AA has a 50 lbs Checked Bag limit per bag, so we are fine :O). Time to go to bed now ...

After a lot of research, we finally bought the airline tickets, decided the itinerary, and sent email to some hotels of the hotels. To keep track of this adventure we'll be using this site, thanks to Mitch for the idea and for sharing his trips experiences as well.

October. Friday 6th. The Iberia flight to Europe leaves Miami at 5:00pm. It departs half an hour late. The check-in in Miami is a laborious as ever, hence the delay in departure. Surprisingly enough, we actually arrive in Madrid three-quarters of an hour late. Could it be that the jet stream was against us? The flight was as comfortable as coach class can be, but the in-flight entertainment was not up to ...

... also offers to purchase our train tickets to Machu Picchu, a pricey US$ 68.00 each on the "backpacker special". The "vista dome" is US$ 110.00 and the "Hiram Bingham" all inclusive tour is almost US$ 500.00 each. More about the trains later. So now we are at US$ 945.00. We still have to pay for meals, admissions and local tours if we decide to take any. Food is inexpensive in Peru, so we feel we can probably do the whole trip for well under US$ 1,500.00 each.

... and we are to pick up our tickets at the ATM ticket machine in Paris Austerlitz station. Now we are $78.87 under budget. Last, but not least, we will soon be ordering our museum and bus passes online for delivery at our hotel in Paris. As of yet we have no physical "tickets", yet have already paid out hundreds of dollars. All we have are reference or booking numbers and some e-mail messages. Have we done the right thing? ... in St. Remy and Amboise directly. Failing that, there is always Orbitz, Travelocity and Expedia, though these tend to favor higher category hotels than we could ill afford. Finally we found local sites, such as www.france-hotel-guide.com which covered just about every area of France and had 185 hotels just in Paris. By typing "Hotel Mont Blanc Paris" in the search engine, Dogpile brought it up as number 1, and Google number 3. Watch out for hefty booking ...

... to accompany us. We access Swiss International and find the fares have gone up to over US$ 700.00. The other websites are little help, so on the off-chance we access directly American Airlines. Imagine our surprise to find that their fare was just US$ 600.00 including tax. American had quoted over US$ 800.00 earlier when we were searching. This goes to show that you can rarely predict airfares in this volatile cyber-world of ours.
