We have very much enjoyed our visit, despite the rain, to what is a very unusual Chinese town. Despite the overly touristy nature of the area, it is a very pleasant place to visit, particularly as the new emerging China seems to be at the cost of the fast disappearing historical old towns areas.
Zhenzhuang is the 2nd canaled city I visited in China. It is supposed to be the most famous water canaled city in China. I didn’t think too much of this city either. The food arrived soon with a heaping mound of rice and egg, dumpling soup, and a large plate of mini shrimp with heads and legs still attached.
The drink menu included Beer (PI Ju) and Lorlinda had a can of cold tea (Cha).
The food was very good although the shrimp were a lot of work to eat.
