... on fuit leur pays et qu'ils sont bloqués dans ces terres. Pas de visa, pas de possibilité de travailler.... Il essaie donc de nous vendre leur artisanat et ça nous fait super mal au coeur...

Cette excursion était très belle, on est content de l'avoir fait, surtout que pendant le trajet, on a vu de nombreuses rizière, des lieux magnifiques et un très beau coucher de soleil.

On retourne le soir même sur Chiang Mai.

... over vand, men over afstøbninger af hænder, der ligesom rakte op af dybet. Statuerne omkring karpe-søerne bestod på samme måde af hænder, fødder, kranier og dæmon-ansigter. Det var virkeligt bizart og lidt uhyggeligt, men mest af alt var det fascinerende!
Indenfor var templet helt anderledes. Som i alle buddhistiske templer var der en Buddha-statue og her var der såmænd også en rigtig munk, der sad og mediterede. Udsmykningen på væggen stod dog i skarp kontrast til det ...

... guide asked whether or not I wanted anything. So I got pressured into buying a half thing of tea that while good, I really didn’t want. Well, at least it was only $3, but still, I could have used that for food or transport or even tip for the guide.

But balanced with an hours conversation and about five cups of tea, I guess it was worth it. It provided some nutrition/energy to hold on while we zoomed down the mountain on the way back towards Chiang Rai ...

... for far longer than we should have, finally discovered it was about 3 doors down from our hostel!  We proceeded to their 'garden' restaurant, which was out the back, down through rubble and jungle to a little hut structure overlooking the river. View was great, service not so good. Although they took our order and brought us our pizza, we think they then forgot we were down there! The pizza was good, until Kim found a long black hair half sticking out from the  slice.... ...
