... shared shower rooms. The room is a box, not big enough to swing a cat in, and the building has a tremendous number of mossies, but its clean... At night I went to have a look at the golden clock tower, which is precisely just that, but a nice land mark, helps find my way about as it is a warren of alleys and streets... not sure what I'm doing tomorrow yet? I'll either head straight for the border or hang for another day, as there's meant to be some cool looking temples etc.

... continued up into the hills to our lunch stop at La Vallee, owned by a former tour guide. We had the best tasting BBQ chicken ever.

When we arrived back in town, we toured the very interesting Opium Museum and found a local shop that allowed us some tea sampling, resulting in sales of bags of tea to our group.

Dinner was at a local coffee and wine shop call Tid Doi Tid Din. ...

We cooked one course at a time and each person prepared only their portion (except the desert which was cooked in a bit pot for us all to share). This was good as we all got to do everything and we could also adjust the levels of spice and the balance of sweet/sour/hot/salt to our own personal preference ...

... so thankful I was able to learn about her life and be inspired by her motivation to make things better for her country. I can’t stress enough how great it is to be in this place. Our trip is wrapping up and I only have a few days left but I have already made so many fantastic memories and I have seen things that pictures cannot even capture. Thailand is said to be “The Land of Smiles” and that is not a lie.
