... on the foozball table! Finally we went to Berlin pub, which was a cross between a pub and a club. We had a beer and shouted over the music, before heading back to our hostels.

... late to Vilnius. Instead of stone, brick was used which meant no exterior carvings.

We went inside the Bernardine Church. It was also Gothic in architecture. The high, vaulted interior was austere, very much like the order itself.

We walked past the presidential palace. Eventually a ceremony started re new military recruits. The president of the country took part in it. The aforementioned national anthem was part of the ceremony we saw.

There are original weapons and belongings of soldiers from both the Nazi and Soviet eras. At the side of the exercise yard out the back, the old execution chamber is still there. I got there after everything else and I'm glad I did. Standing on the very spot where a lot of people were shot in the head by KGB agents pretty much did me for the day.
