This place has been one of our favourites this trip. Great location on the beach, reasonable sized room and great chill-out areas to meet people and relax. All this for US$25 a night, no aircon but can't go wrong for the price.

This past weekend was spent on Ambergris Caye in the town of San Pedro. Before visiting, many of the comments we have heard about the place was that is was a more developed version of Caye Calker, it was crowded and was touristy. This was all pretty true, except I underestimated just how touristy it was! It felt so, so strange having the majority …

San Pedro... La Isla Bonita

I preferred Playa to Cozumel... it is still very touristy, but …

After yesterday's boredom we decided to leave Caye Caulker early and head back to San Pedro. We got straight off the boat and tried to book our next few days of diving. Out boat arrived in at about 11 and we immediately booked in for 2 afternoon dives departing at 2pm. We quickly found a new hotel to stay in which was only $25 a night which was …

Grey Skies Blue Hole

Today we woke up at 4:45am to get ready for our full day adventure to The Blue Hole, one of the best dive sites in the world. The day was miserable to say the least. Our heads didn't feel great from our efforts the night before and the weather was hideous. There was thunder and it was pouring down rain tropical style - completely relentless. We had …

Today we woke up at 7am for an 8am departure for our full day fishing trip. We were picked up right on time which was unbelievable! We headed to get fuel and snorkelling gear for the others and picked up some mixers for the rum (3 bottles by the way, us Australian's never do anything in halves!!) on the way. The weather was overcast and slightly …
