We then continued down the opposite flank before joining a farm road that took us back toward our cars. We stopped to replenish our water bottles before we carried on to a nice lunch stop before approaching our next peak.

We lunched in the shadows of the ruins of a stone finca while looking down toward the terraced valleys stretching southeast towards Benidorm to the sea.

If you've been following our blog you know we've been away for a "health retreat". We traveled to Benissa, Spain, just 45 minutes north of our home in the mountains overlooking Calp.

We stayed at the Obsidian Wellness Center. One of our hiking friends here in Campello has stayed there before and told us about it.

... hours allowing for many breaks, photos and about an hour on the top enjoying the 360 deg views, tranquility, ravens, chocolate croissants, butterflies and even one hawk eagle.

The trail is well marked and defined with some 'ledge walk' sections. A short side trip by Rob also uncovered some recent 'cave paintings'...potentially pagan sacrifice activity(recent) ...but ...

... abruptly terminated in favour of what seemed the quick and easy prospect. I'd avoid the climb, the stress, the anxiety that would shadow any excitement I may have gained, I'd stay closer to the ground and take straight lines, not endure the corners, the ups and downs, reach my destination much faster but of course miss the view. The Pyrenees would have to wait until I have more time and a calmer state of mind.
