Today is National Chestnut Day! When in Porto roasted chestnuts were being sold on many street corners here they are on the table along with Flavian beans that have been soaked in a brine. Both are good. The weather has been cool and rainy since I arrived. About 50 to 55 during the day...same temp. inside as the wood stove has only been lit one day! Always wearing many layers of clothing.
Today another baby was born, but the mother was straining so hard ...

I arrived at my goat job yesterday afternoon in the pouring rain, a 2.5 hour bus ride from Porto. I like the trains better as I get a half price senior discount. Only a very small discount on the buses. Yesterday the bus was 11 euros.
Today after feeding and watering the goats we went out to lunch. Lunch was wild boar, lamb and beef. We all shared. Easy to gain weight here with all the good ...

About a four hour drive as we decided to head north, back towards some of the are we cycled in. Passed amazing rolling hills or olives, vines, and grass land.
