Had a good trip yesterday, the majority of it was on the A75 which is dual carriageway, unfortunately using local roads would have taken far too long. The road was fairly quiet but as the altitude increased so did the thickness of fog which we were in for about 30 miles then we were back in brilliant sunshine. Between Perpignan and Narbonne are 2 lagoons that used to be salt flats and La Palme seemed to be a little desolate, so we drove on to what sounded a lovely place Port La Nouvelle, how wrong can you be! Firstly we couldn't take the road ...

... to be a very popular place for wind surfers and paddle boarding as the coast is almost like a lagoon here and you would think it very sheltered and safe, but it must get windy. We decide to have a stroll into near by Leucate about 850m and it is fairly straight forward really, with a few small shops cafes/restaurants and a bread shop for the morning, so we are all set. Time to walk back for a cup of tea and put away hats and scarves and to get out shirts and ...
