      ... they are few and far between. Still annoying however!!! Yesterday, we went to the Stone Museum in Mosedus. This was started by a geologist who carried his passion for stones to his own home. There are all sorts of stones, even some from under the sea, as well as statues and monuments all made of stone. These have been set in truly beautiful parkland and it was lovely to walk under the trees beside the stream. I have been fascinated by the white storks ...

      ... in Lithuania and that is not very far, about 60 Klms away. The weather was so beautiful, we went to the sea today. Unfortunately, Vente is under renovation at the moment, but it was still a beautiful place. Once they have all the buildings available, I think it will be a very interesting place to go. We had lunch in Pierkule on the way home at about 2pm, then we arrived home at about 4.30pm and Regina had a wonderful dinner ...

      The only two acts that I actually knew were Naughty Boy (lala, lalalalalalalalala) who didn't bother to show up, and Pet Shop Boys, who I knew back in the eighties. So besides being our driver, Renāte also had to act as our personal guide to Latvian pop music. Which turned out to be harder than you might think...

      ... stopped to pull on our warm jumpers and jackets for the walk to the hostel. The wind was biting! The hostel was not far from the bus station, maybe 25 minutes walk, but we broke this up with a stop at the tourist information office. Here the lady had super English and could give us a map and lots of information about what to see. She could also sell us bus tickets to get to the Karosta region a little out of the town, and where the old military prison is which we ...
