... is a quintessential New England town. Just across the river in Hanover we wandered the campus of Dartmouth admiring the graceful old buildings and vibrancy that one feels in a University town. <br><br>Dee steered us to their favorite eatery, Molly's, and another fabulous meal. <br><br>

October 17, 2009<br><br>Saturday and Dee is off to a workshop, Paul is home, it is a glorious sunny day and the garden calls to George and Paul. They spend the entire day pruning and clearing the large back yard that is home to blueberry bushes, apple trees, a pear tree and numerous perennials that have been neglected for a number of years as the house sat empty. This will be a beautiful garden next year ...

... Our thanks to Cousin George and Nancy for their hospitality and for sharing some of their favorite places with us. There is never enough time but we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.<br><br>It is a short drive from Hartland to Randolph Vermont where we will spend a few days with Cousin George's son Paul and his family &#8211; wife Dee and daughter Morgan (Jasper the dog, and kitties Sparkly and Princess).<br><br>

... to the Appalation Trail which connected to another trail which went straight up. I had no idea what i was getting my self into when i suggested the hike. I love hiking but I'm not usually hiking straight up. After multiple stops for myself, Thomas sprang right up the mountain like a deer, we made it to the top just as the sun was setting. It was a beautiful view but it started getting darker faster and faster we ended hiking the last part in the dark. Lucky for us it was near a full moon.

... Falls. Up and down the Canadian side to view the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls from every angle and every lighting perspective. At night they shot off fireworks above the falls and then lit up all the falls with colors changing every minute. By day you have the rainbows and by night you have the pscyhedilacs. ... to Honeydew. Always take the roads less travelled..... that was our mantra. Texas was suprisingly (to me) pretty and green. People EVERYWHERE were friendly and nice. Are different parts of the country more the same or more different? Hard to say, it depends, certainly the South was the most different for me. Glad we went there, don't know if I will make a point of going back to many of the places we went there, interesting as they were. The coasts probably are ...

... and going toward Buffalo, NY. That is not concrete - as you can tell by now we do change our minds!!! I would really like to go to Burlington, VT and take the cruise to visit the Northern Lights, but that will probably be on another trip also. Got here this afternoon around 3:00 and have not even left the campground. Just ate in tonight and resting up a bit. The drive here was alot like driving through the mountains in Tennessee. It would be a beautiful drive in the fall with the colored leaves.
