Finally- we arrived in Brighton! Stayed for a few days at the Grand Hotel Brighton-famous for the bombing of PM Margret Thatcher- (locals like to refer to her as Maggie). They restored it and it's a beautiful place to stay with very friendly service and close to the boardwalk and the lanes. For the first few days we were somewhat homeless: wandering around shops, amusement parks, ice skating rinks, shopping around for schools and ...

And one of the great plusses is that I will miss the whole of the Olympic games. They start after we get to Villemagne and they finish before we get back.
