... stream near to top. It is heading in the right direction to go to the castle but it leads straight into an orchard where the owner is collecting some fruit. Private property, we can't go that way. We make our way back toward the piazza and come across an elderly gent sitting outside his house. We ask for the castello and he tells us we need to return to the piazza on the main road and then go up from there. We cannot cut across. OK, so we start ...

We were lucky enough to have a delightful English lady in our car who, before we ever moved, announced she felt sick. When we ...

... other way. OK, down we go again. Back to the main road and continue on. This time we decide to just take the next main road (by main road, I mean it is not a goat track) and finally we are able to follow this to an intersection with another main road and we eventually arrive at the hotel - only about half an hour late. Fabio was easy to pick out of the crowd - tall, dark, handsome Italian with huge calves and a tight butt. We'll ...

... back to the railway station, but we’ve fallen for the place just the same. I think the key is the unassuming way the town just gets on with being, while people like us come and go. The little piazza below our window is the only square in the town so it’s not only the place where people meet, but also a favourite spot for kids to run and do the things kids do.

We’ve even grown attached to the church with the bell we’ve named ...
