Next morning at breakfast I asked John where Dar was and he said "in the hospital". I thought he was joking (as he does) but she really was. Then we got a message from Jennifer in Brussels and she had been sick on the plane. It took me a while to figure out what they had eaten that no one else had and it turned out to be the oysters at lunch. Dar had 2 Jennifer had 1.

The students were very loud, and very
smelly. Some of them became very obvious to the olfactory organs on
the bus, and it was a good thing to get off the stinky bus. The M.2
students were polite little dolls, but the M.3 students were
borderline rude. I won't speak badly of my students though. I will
only say that they were politeness ...
... a good many friends, I’ve mailed and simply had no replies. I have however kept in close touch with a few people and those particular people have impressed me greatly. I didn’t think staying in touch with a mate is that impressive but when it ends up with less than 10% bothering it suddenly becomes that way.
I have actually lost touch with Marcin! He’s not updated his blog again in several days but I’m sure it’s just a lack of Wifi. ...
