... first clap of thunder was was a cut out in our weak engine. As the large warm rain drops began to fall slowly we were a ship without an engine and had to push our stricken machine to shelter. Simultaneously, and unbelievably, Shelley's iPhone lost it's last ounce of power and so I was faced with an hour's walk to Luton Village in pouring rain whilst Shelley sheltered from nature's wrath.
