... out last ride with our fabulous driver Biju (he expertly drove us through Kerela, through harrowing twisty roads and horrible traffic) and arrived at the airport around 230am. We somehow made it through and got to the first leg of our flight. I slept almost the whole 4 hr flight. Then we landed in Dubai which is a huge beautiful modern airport. When I was a child, there was almost a corner shop on every street corner (slight exaggeration) and here they are even more regular, there could easily be four or five within a 2 minute walk. ... a swim, there was the loudest thunder and lightening we've ever heard, was going on all day but the rain ever came. We had a few sneaky beers in the lobby, hid the beers under our towels because you're not allowed to drink alcohol purchased from outside into the public area.
