... be extra vigilant to avoid frostbite and the like. It's so cold people aren't even going skating or skiing.

Kaye and I did get a chance to go out and go snow shoeing around the lake and through the trees which was great fun and not as difficult as you might think. The snow shoes these days are mad of light aluminium tubing and plastic webbing with light metal crampons for the ice beneath. You certainly build up some heat walking ...

... side by side for 20kms at about 70km/h, very tedious. At times we came across stretches of the freeway that had a slight grey tinge to them which Paul said was ice and driving became slippery, even though people barely reduced their speeds. The second time we crossed the river we went by a huge barge that had to push its way through about ...

Today we walked around the city. It was constantly snowing and made the place like a beautiful white winter wonderland. Albeit that the roads and footpaths became a sludge everything else was covered in a beautiful sheet of snow. I must admit ...

    Hi all

We hope everyone is fine back home. We have been enjoying an overnight fall of snow which has coated everything in snow and caused a number of snow drifts. The snow plough has been working overtime keeping the road and driveway out to Harriett and Paul's Island clear.

We have enjoyed a couple of outdoor BBQ sessions cooking some roast lamb one night and a pork roast another night. It ...
