Upon entering The Royal Plantation Resort there was an overall feeling of "ROYALTY" shall I say. Greeted by the staff by name is something of a standard here. The Royal Plantation staff certainly go out of their way to accommodate each and every guests needs. This resort, originally built in the 1950's in the classic Caribbean style, it was given an extensive make-over in 2005. Caribbean's most exclusive boutique resort on The Ocho Rios Riviera, offering 74 luxurious suites, all with stunning...

... just in time for a dancehall party to start in the field next to our house. The music was so loud that car alarms were being set off and didn't end untill 6 in the morning. I slept till noon, when i was finnaly able to go to sleep and travelled 4 hours out to long bay in portland, which is the far east coast. Portland is the only place i have seen on the island that has waves. In long bay we stayed out a small house ...
Alva, Jamaica phantom1212... them. Albert was lucky as he is allergic to apples. After the ride back to the ship we had a short time for some quick souvenier shopping then back on the ship. I would have liked to see more of the island. Next time . . . Everyone had a good time and a few just went for relaxing full body massages. From what they said it was the best ever.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica gre.travels... all went. Zip-lining is when you are in a harness that hangs on a steel cable tied between trees and you slide or 'zip' on the cable from tree to tree leaping from one platform and landing on another one. You travel at speeds up to 40 mph and you can be very high off the ground. It is not for the faint hearted or someone afraid of heights but it is very exhilarating for those ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica thetraveldog... entertaining, and the food is very good.
Our favorite by far, has to be El Capitano. Manager & Italian chef, Federico Discalzi has has created a menu that is extraordinary. Probably the best Italian Restaurant in the entire Sandals Chain. You can easily make a meal form the antipasta bar alone. Be sure to try the stuffed Calamari if you enjoy seafood.
The bars and bar staff are all excellent as well ...
I did it!! I successfully completed my first half-marathon!! I say successfully because I aimed to run the entire distance in 2 hours and 30 minutes, and I did it!!! The entire experience was truly unique. It all started at 5:15am when I crossed the starting line under a starry sky and ended at 7:45am as I crossed the finish under the bright Jamaican sun. But seems to be continuing even now. The ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica jennipost... live on a Caribbean Island. Anyway, initially it felt strange to be back. Nothing had changed but it seemed like I had been away for longer than 2 and a half weeks. When I got home, I spent some time unpacking and reacquainting myself. My roommate had put up a "welcome back jen" sign, and that put a smile on my face. I stopped by the office to say hello, and it was good to see familiar faces, and my colleagues were ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica jennipost... see, no hard feelings. You just give me a dollar for my guidance and we are still friends. Irie, yea?". Without giving it a thought, we followed this voice into the market and began our quest for the perfect Jamaican souvenir. "This is my shop", our leader said as we stopped at a shady corner tucked into the far end of the market. "Take some time. See what you like. Then we can make a deal." His shop consisted only of a small corner, about the size of a hall closet ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica nklenske... Rios, Jamaica the next day on Aug 4th. We stayed in Jamaica 1 week. In that time we snorkled, hiked, played games, and spent a lot of time at the beach. One thing we did that was quite enjoyable is climbed UP Dunn's river falls. We were there during the Jamaican independance day, so we really enjoyed mixing it up with the locals, although we did spend ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica alex-bThis was a horrible nasty little place I hope to never see again. When you walk down the street, it is filthy and taxi drivers nag at you and then throw insults when you refuse to take a taxi. I Came. I Saw. I LEFT! One almost saving feature of this hideous place was swimming in the water, but even that turned south when I felt what I believe to be a sewer pipe under my feet.
