      ... is a hill near Highclere, and during the Middle Ages when people had to be executed, rather than hanging them they were put in cages on the top of Com Gibbitt and left there for the animals to find.
      8) Many of the trees located on Highclere grounds were brought back from America and India by various Earls. The 3rd Earl also brought back loads of rhododendron, which has now taken over much of the estate grounds because it is so difficult to cut back.

      Well we made it to London! We have a three hour layover here and then board our plane to Amsterdam, where we will meet Toots and Nan. Plane ride was smooth and plane only half full. So different than when we came over last summer. Mom and dad impressed with how clean everything is at the airport. First purchase in Europe: hand mirror for mom at the dime store.
