... were supposed to be allowed to just walk right in, having already bought our tickets, but instead one of the security stopped us on our way in and said we couldn't enter because we were wearing flip flops. We tried to argue this; we had already bought our tickets, been inside and no body had said anything. Still we were not allowed. So we asked for a refund, because there is no sign anywhere that says no flip flops. After trying to get ...

It's our past full day in Nice today. To ease us into our transition, the sun hid behind clouds on and off all day. It was still warm and beautiful, but not the perfect blue of the last two days. The air was warm though, and everyone was set to enjoy an end of summer Sunday. To get into town, we catch a tram down the hill for a euro. It is a lovely mode of transport, and a scenic way of travelling pretty quickly. When ...

... the last time I swam in the ocean and I certainly don't remember ever swimming in water so warm but so tricky. It was how I imagine Birdlings flat would be if you decided to take a dip. It was rocky/stony so you were unsteady on the feet to begin with. The water was well over your head within a couple of metres of the shoreline. You could Bob around quite happily but you drifted alot getting in and out was so hard. You just kind of had ...

Day 180: Au revoir Nice, Hola Barcelona!

A travel blog entry by adventurenonni on Jan 16, 2014

Rain rain rain. This is how we are farewelled from Nice. After such a lovely and warm past few days here, it decides to become winter and pour when we decide to leave. Another nice breakfast was had with Audrey before we left with our bags for a morning in town before our flight at 6pm. We packed our things and said goodbye. Audrey made us a little package each of goodies to take on the aeroplane. They hardly lasted the elevator... It ...

... and went and ate it on the beach. It was around 8pm and the beach was still so busy. After watching the sunset we headed back to the hostel for the night.
The next day we headed off to Monaco. It was about a 30minute train ride away. Everything in Monaco is big and fancy, however the town itself is only a tiny 2.2 square kilometres. To just apply for residency here it will cost you up to €1,000,000 and if they decline you your money is non refundable. We started ...
