    ... feel slightly carsick from staring at my computer screen. Every time I move however the woman behind me seems to be suffering from some sort of nervous disorder and screams out in alarm. I'm trying to sit really really quiet...

    We pull into Union Station and immediately notice the difference in the way people speak here. It's a lot more to the point while still seeming to be polite because every comment is followed by "you have a good day now".

    ... emotional! Afterwards Mike and I both knelt and said a prayer of gratitude to these brave men and women and another of thanks to God that neither Kenny, Kory or Matt are here. No one that we know personally is here, and boy am I grateful for that!

    We travelled up the hill to witness the changing of the guard that stands over the tomb of the unknown soldier. 24 hours a day this tomb is guarded by members of The Old Guard in honour of all those fallen soldiers that couldn’t be accounted for and never came home.

    My stomach chose for me, as I had not eaten since breakfast that morning, and it was now nearing six. I didn’t know where to go, though, so I decided to walk back towards the hotel and keep an eye out for nearby restaurants on my phone’s map app.

    ... is very old and beautiful.

    Our first stop was the White House. Barack must have forgotten our invitation for morning tea as he wasn't there to greet us. We took all the normal photos and it was interesting to see the vegetable garden and bee hives from the street. We could also see that all the trees were wired with alarms at the top. It was amazing to see a building that you see so often in the news.
