    ... are not pigeons seems to make all the difference). For 500 pesos (25cents approx) we got a handful of seed. So many beautifully coloured birds, all twittering away. Their beaks didn't hurt, however, their claws dig into your hand. I had a set of 2 that really liked me, but kept getting chased away by the most beautiful green bird with a red beak.

    Colombia has received hundreds of million of dollars in annual US anti-narcotics aid, has fought the FARC and ELN (the other armed guerilla army; this of about 1,300 - 3,000 members last year) since 1964. More than 200,000 people have died and millions have been displaced.

    Santos will need backing in congress from these currently elected to pass reforms that would help ...

    Jay had a very rough night last night. Both fever & intestinal problems had him up many times. So, early this morning, I sought out the nurse and she came by the stateroom with Immodium A.D., some antibiotics, and some electrolyte replacements, along with a couple bananas.

    Jay's fever would respond to aspirin, but return at intervals. He had the chills (when the cabin was actually quite warm) and then the sweats. ...
