... I have mainly been working split shifts, but the owner of the bar suggested taking me and the other girls kangaroo shooting. I actually thought he was pulling my leg. Surely no one would want to shoot a kangaroo? But no, he wasn't joking. Apparently out here kangaroos ruin crops and are considered pests, so farmers have the right to cull them as needed. Needless to say the other girls and I kindly turned down his offer.

As well ...
Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia suzyhart7... dinner and heading to bed in a very warm caravan. After doing alot of driving durng the heat of the day the caravan heats up alot so the fantastic aircon we have definately gets a workout on days like this!
An early getaway to drive closer to Sydney.
Hay, New South Wales, Australia jamiesonfamilyAfter two and a half weeks of partying in Sydney I decided I had to escape the backpacker bubble before my liver and funds escaped me.
Sydney is a really fun city to be in and it's really easy to meet people in the hostels. However, it is also easy to get sucked into life there, and before you know you're six months down the line with no money left.
Having started and quit the sales job (it was a completely soul destroying venture which involved bullying people ...
Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia suzyhart7... shortly after I got the bike safely under cover. Rain does seem to follow me around on this trip, and much of the country really needs it badly.

My friends were getting ready for a 2 week trip of their own, so I only stayed the one night here. This was my last stop to visit old friends, so I will begin the last leg back to Adelaide tomorrow afternoon.
Bendigo, Victoria, Australia rspear... by our marquee. I even met an AFL player - Michael something who plays for Essendon which is the team my cousin Dale supports. As soon as I found out who he was I had to get my photo with him to show Dale. There was a lot of lads on footie parties there and we got chatting to a bunch of guys from MacLeod which is a team from Melbourne, who just happened to beat Whittlesea (our local team) in the grand final a couple of weeks ago. So THOSE particular photos have to ...
Echuca, Victoria, Australia brooksy85... for me! I had fun wondering the quaint shops around town for a while. Ended up going to 3 playgrounds today which the kids had fun playing with the other kids there. It's sad how much of our trip we look and assess the suitability of playgrounds... guess we've become a bit of an expert on the subject. Don't think many have come anywhere near the likes of the one near home at Donnybrook.
Echuca, Victoria, Australia drownsroundaus... so after setting up we headed into Echuca (we are staying about 5km out of town to save some bucks) to do some sightseeing. Started at the National Holden Museum as part of a packaged deal. The whole time there we both thought of a friend, Dion, especially when the Monaro's were around. Jeremy saw a few of his dream cars and the boys learnt a little important history.
Echuca, Victoria, Australia drownsroundausLeft Adelaide this morning in cool overcast conditions. Bike running very well so far. Went north east over the Adelaide Hills to Renmark. Still cool but no real rain as I follow the Murray river into the drier parts of the state. Sunny now and very flat, but road still somewhat curvey.
<br ...

After that, she drives about 20km into Kerang to open up her Bridal and Party Shop at 9am - 6 days a week she does that. She is also a qualified hair dresser. Somehow, she finds time to get to Melbourne to umpire enough games each year to qualify her to attend National Titles, and she is in the top elite squad of umpires in this country, and has just returned from umpiring in the Under 19 Women's ...
Kerang, Australia newtripper... They all had to be filled back up again for the trips to Melbourne. After a few more minutes Ben turned up in his one and I hopped in. It was really surreal. At one point three of the Chryslers had gone through the pumps and had parked, about 6 others were currently filling up at all the available pumps and the queue was entirely made up of the Chrysler 300c cars. We zoomed off as soon as we could as we reckoned we had about 5 hours driving ahead of us. Ben hadn't ...
