    ... the main road again. What the hell is it thinking? I set it for the most economical route, and all we can figure is that it is trying to get us places by the straightest way, so that when the M3 goes round in a big curve, it thinks it's much more sensible to go across country, along lanes that are too narrow for a centre line, with hedgerows or stone walls either side.     ... I spent a little longer going over some things I missed, then made my way out - I had spent over 3 hours in there, so much for an hour! I found a good sized supermarket and bought a frozen lasagne for dinner. I also discovered in the shop a small container of honeycomb and toffee ice cream - I haven't seen honeycomb ice cream since Australia. So I had dinner and dessert now for just 4 pounds.     ... They open the castle only at select times (about 30 days) during the year for visitors, lucky lucky me. Do I need to say more ! The rooms are just like the series and that staircase is more imposing in real life.
