... and my 40th birthday last December, I decided to return by myself to cross off one of my bucket list items - seeing the Sakura Festival. And when my wonderful mum decided to come with me it was even more exciting. So, after a late night and a very early rise, a sleepy three hour flight to Cairns, a four hour wait (reading Adam Boland's new book - Brekky Central), then a bumpy seven hour flight, we arrived in Tokyo... So we are about to leave Sydney and head up to Coffs Harbour. We have had a lovely few days in Sydney, I got to see my cousin Laura and going to Bondi Beach which was lovely. Further to our trepidations is Khasmir: this is not a ...

... I could enjoy having changed every day at home. My room was a very quiet; just the right temperature and a nice size bathtub if you enjoy taking baths.

We wandered past many old 1800 to turn of the century sand stone and bedrock buildings. Sky scrapers sat towering above them. It was 5pm and the sun was glowing on the red and tan colored sandstone. We were all clicking away with our cameras. One particular building was a perfect example ...

    Sunshine After the Rain

... plenty of wonderful (picture perfect) views of Sydney Harbor while walking out to Mrs. Macquaries Chair. We were a little confused as to whether there was supposed to be an actual chair or bench or if it was just the whole sandstone end of the peninsula itself (after talking to a Sydneysider while in Melbourne, sounds like we didn't go far enough to see the actual bench - oops!!). My quota of Harbor and Opera House pictures for the day ...
