      New Years Day 2015

A travel blog entry by tourtaidnanny on Jan 01, 2015

This morning we took a ferry ride to Manly...and wished we hadn't. It is like a very hot Blackpool with surfing. We watched the waves for a while and then decided to return to Sydney to explore the area called The Rocks which is one of the original parts of the city. As we took the 35 minute journey back we tried to imagine what it must have felt like to be a convict arriving in Botany Bay after a long sea ...

At 13 years old I didn't understand why we would be celebrating when one of the most important people in my life wasn't there anymore to celebrate with us. ... Suburbs. We started at Camp Cove, really quaint little beach which was well protected from the Pacific. Then walked up to the lighthouse last a lovely little gay mans nudist beach!!! From what I saw the water must have been cold!!! The lighthouse was built in 1839 after the HMS Dunbar crashed into the rocks on route from England. Then we walked to Watson's Bay, this was an amazing place, really nice harbour ...

I know I am late, but here is a wrap-up of Australia. There will be one more after this in a few days. 1) Summer (Dec.-Feb.): It's hot and rainy in the tropical North; it's hot and dry in the south. Winter (June-Aug.): It's hot and dry in the tropical North; it's warm or cool, and rainy in the south. The outback is just plain hot and dry. 2) Around Darwin the raising of crocodiles is an agricultural enterprise, for ...
