We continue on east and then just a little north to the city that shares it name with its sister city over the Canadian border, Sault Sainte Marie. Our plan was to see the Soo Locks and then take a quick day trip in the truck over the border.

The Soo Locks have been referred to as one of the great wonders of the world and are still the largest & one of the busiest waterway traffic systems on earth! Watching huge vessels pass through the Locks ...

Not a very interesting story today. The campground is supposed to have wifi but the connection is too weak to access at our site so I took the comouter(s) with me while I did laundry and got caught up on banking, emails etc. Bob fixed a couple of screens and a spray hose that was leaking. We went to Walmart (of course) for a few things and also went to a laundromat ...

Since the ship was so long it was in the 2nd lock About the same time a tour boat came into the lock closest to us so we were able to see the water rise in the closest one and the ship sink descend. It was done so slowly you don't realize how much they have to lower it until the ship is even with the walkway and still going lower.
