... point, I saw a car up ahead pull off of the shoulder back onto the road... while braking for them, I saw why they had stopped: a huge flock of sandhill cranes were milling about in a farmer's empty field. I pulled over and took a couple photos from the car. (Later on, I also saw about 3 times this many on the North Shore of Lake Huron on my way to the border.)

First Day!

First day of my big adventure! Pretty uneventful day. Driiving went well, got some minor cramping towards the end of the day but it was fine other than that. Not the best sightseeing weather (cloudy with some rain) but then there wasn't that much to see anyway so it was actually great for driving!
