Ha! Water dripping from the ceiling outside our room?! This was how the morning began, always an adventure lol. We stepped out of our room to see a bucket on the floor catching dripping water from the ceiling...hey as long as its not in the room I'm good to go. The staff was johnny on the spot to get it fixed by the time we got back the bucket was …

After a couple of long flights (Seattle to narita, japan-10 hours & narita to Bangkok-6 hours), we have FINALLY arrived in Thailand! This gingers Virgin voyage and her husbys 5th (yeah, I said
5th). I have wanted to check this off of my list of places to visit for awhile now... and having my own personal travel guide is wonderful...well …

Gina's birthday! (And Bethan's) We all had a buffet breakfast in the hotel and admired Bethan's purple and green hair that had taken 4 hours the previous night from half 9 till half 1... We had a group day trip, starting with the Royal Palace. The buildings were very beautiful and very colourful with a great amount of detail and lots of gold. We …

Day 12

We left the island and said goodbye to the Woodward family. We had some group photos, then got minibuses on to the ferry and then a long drive to Bangkok with a couple of happy room and 7-Eleven stops on the way. We arrived in Bangkok at around 6pm and checked in to the hotel which was very large but fairly old fashioned. We went out for dinner …

Great location, in need of updating and some maintenance as it was a bit run down. Room was clean, the only real problem we had with it was the water temp never got above luke warm at best the entire duration of our stay. Staff was always helpful and nice.

At one time probably a greatr hotel, but clearly past it's peak. That said the room was clean, reasonable size and with all services (incl TV & A/C) working. The buiffet breakfast (200 baht) was good value and would cover most palates. Hotel is ideally placed for the Grand Palace, access to the river and old backpackers haunts - which are being given a new lease of life.
