Tot we in Laksao aankwamen. Vanaf hier veranderde de weg van asfalt in een onverhard pad. En dat is nog goed uitgedrukt. Op sommige plaatsen was de weg er zo slecht aan toe, dat we bang waren dat de scooter schade op zou lopen. De route was wederom erg mooi, maar we konden er niet goed van genieten. Erg oncomfortabel. Soms gingen we niet sneller dan 10 km per uur, en pas na 5 uur kwamen we (wederom in het donker) aan ...

... matkaa taitetaan 12 tuntia ja viidellä eri menopelillä. Lipunmyyjä voisi vaikkapa sanoa lippua ostaessa, että matka kestää 8-14 tuntia ja edessä on saatanallista säätöä yötä myöten. Turret voisivat silloin itse päättää, onko säätösietokyky kohdillaan vai ei. Toisaalta, VIP-bussistamme löytyi savukone, discovalot ja tietenkin karaoke-laitteet eli ehkä on turha valittaa.

Another motorcycle loop, another fall...
We decided to do the Thakhek Loop which is a fairly popular motorcycle trip travelers do. We did our usual preparations and a girl we met, Siobhan, Matt and I set off for a three day bike ride. The first day was an easy ride, mainly highway and randomly ran into Rose and Keoma, our friends from the slow boat, on the way. We stayed in a guesthouse near Konglor Cave which is the main attraction of doing the loop.
