    ... sky's and fuji not blocked by any other mountains in the way(see pictures). Like the monkey park it was definitely worth the extra effort to get there and it is clear to see why the Japanese place such cultural and even spiritual importance on Fuji as it is so aesthetically pleasing and absolutely dwarfs everything around it.     ... left for Yatsugatake earlier.

    It took about 2 hours to go over the mountain and we arrived at about 5.30pm at the ryokan (Japanese inn). By the we made up the futons and got ourselves ready, it was time for dinner. Shigeki's favourite restaurant in the area was a beer hall restaurant serving fusion food. The only reason was not for the food but for the beer.

    ... and cool slowly down. have a nap and recharge batteries. We are the only guests and have all the attention of the personell.

    The onsen we can enjoy for the first time together and this is a perfect cure for our muscles to recover. There is even a refridgerator with beer available.
    In our Yukata we are seated in the dining room and enjoy a great dinner and we take another bath before we retire.

    This is the highlight of the trip and we start in the evening from the Fujinomyia station on 2400m. The temperatures are still very high and as we go they are falling as the sun sets.

    I managed to get to the bottom of the mountain as it just got dark and looking back up is a really pretty view of all the stations lite up at night.
