... to get some tempura as well, as I hadn't had any yet. My main course was a chewy noodle soup with bear meat. Or that's at least what they said it was. It cost a staggering 3100 yen and the dish as a whole underwhelming. The meat didn't taste exotic at all, and it was somewhat tough. The tempura was better, came with rice, and was 1300 yen. Well, at least now I can say that I've had bear. After dinner we walked back and missed our street. We ...

Today we are off to Mt Fuji. Up at 5.15 breaky at 6.30. Bags down in lobby & check out 7.45. Bus Picked us up & took us to bus terminal. ... us to do, we go up anyway. The trail is completely in the forest therefore we don't miss out on any lookouts! After 1 hour walking on a seriously steep track, we realised to be completely surrounded by those black clouds we saw from the bottom! I still love the creepy and mystic atmosphere of the foggy wood, so we decided to go on for another 50 min till the next intersection and then take the other route to go down. But we move few steps forward and the rain starts to ...

... It's a 4 km loop along the north, south, east shore and the bridge cutting the lake in half. The north shore is the best place to view Mt Fuji rising above the lake and, if the water is flat, see it reflected into the water as it was double. In fact, the scenery is absolutely spectacular and my eyes are constantly focused on this natural beauty!

On the pathway, we are stopped by 2 guys with a video camera: they're making a video for the National ...

... it seemed I was the only non Japanese participant, many surprised faces to see a fat western bloke on the beach at such an hour! On hauling the net ashore the catch is shared amongst everyone, some very strange looking fish destined for the breakfast table! After a day's wandering there really is nothing better than a soak in an Onsen, it's a very Japanese thing the whole onsen experience with more etiquette to follow, you shower before having a ...
