Going downstream again we found BCF boat Epiphany, but John and Fiona Slee were not there. We phoned them but understood they would not be back at their boat very soon so we carried on through Caversham Lock once again. This time Louis was on duty so we had a good laugh.

... between David, Michael, April and I re speeches for the Community Farewell, we headed back to PHAB to set up for the evening’s event. Stupidly sticky and hot so formal dress was not fun to change into, but lots of representatives from GX, VSO and BAA were set to attend as this year’s GX in Hounslow was the final BAA-sponsored year. The room and the food looked great, so everything was set… Three speeches later: Head of GX, Head of Youth Services ...

... story to Patrick's legendary status is that on first sighting the Filipinos thought he was butch lesbian. Brilliant. We had a champion time, made a trip through the barracks housing estate in full fancy dress to the corner shop (many an oggle from passing cars) and I broke out the shapes on my crutches. We said our final goodbyes to the barracks house as the occupants are moving into their host homes this weekend and then missed a lot of buses on our long trek home. Good times.

... Sunday evening was fun and spent with Sam down at his local pub. We went out for a quiet game of pool and ended up at a pub cup final football party! Alot of cheesy DJ classics and drunks!
Got to meet a few of my cousins friends and after the lock in at 11 the music stopped and the pool table finally came out, we only had time for one game then home..

... but it does deliver us about 2 kilometers away from the gates of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Eventually we find our way in, pay our money and decide to join the guided tour of the Spring flowers. All we had to do then was negotiate our way to the nominated meeting spot, which was the ….well we worked out where it wasn’t, then spotted a bunch of folk and decided we would join that tour anyway.
