All checked in & time to relax (for now) Enjoying the luxuries of the VIP lounge in Heathrow Airport, currently having a quick bite to eat & a lovely glass of champagne, with thanks to Joanne Harris! Soon we have to leave as we have to board the plane in 10mintes! (Time now is 4:50pm GMT) It ...

... out for more than one or two, I predictable succumbed to the pressures of socialising, and ended up out out in Reading town. Now, those that know me understand that I cannot stand heading out clubbing in Reading - compared to other, more civilised places (like a bar in London or pub back home) I find the town to be full of arrogant, pretentious titheads after dark. Not in age, but longest serving. Bless. There's laundry left in the basket, lightbulbs ...

... Our safari company (Elite Safaris in Kampala) had juggled the itinerary many times in the build up to our trip but never once did they fully explain the total time we would spend in the car travelling from one place to another. When you are planning a trip in Uganda, it might be worth getting an indication of the time to be spent in travelling – some of the journies can be very long (6 hours plus for example) and Uganda roads are rarely ...

      16 days and counting!

A travel blog entry by alyroy on Jul 15, 2013

I only have 16 days left until I and I am feeling more than just a bit nervous. I don't know what I'm going to do for a job or where I'm going to live and to top it off, I'm going with less money than originally planned. The past couple of weeks has been so up & down. I have literally been up to my eyeballs in my workload and plans to see my friends and family ...
