Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy benitalutzShort train ride from Florence after a hair raising trip trying to return the rental car in confusing, congested and traffic restrictied Florence (don't rent a car downtown go to the airport). Bologna is an university town (even Johns Hopkin has a campus). Very historical town with a great plaza area like most towns and a great antique market.
Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy pathenger... miles from a little town north of Bologna to Ferrara. Luckily they have bike friendly trains here, because that's how we got home.

That night, we met Gherardo, a friend of my former professor's, who used to live in DC, so spoke very good English, for dinner. He took us to a "typical" Bologna restaurant, I ate amazing bolognese, and we peppered Gherardo with questions about Italy, Italians ...
Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy jaeleli"One always begins to forgive a place as soon as it's left behind." - Charles Dickens

My first year of graduate school has ended, and I'm grateful that despite finishing my bachelor's degree several years ago I was still able to have a study-abroad experience. This was my longest period of time abroad in one place, and I noticed that living in a stationary place and having real responsibility was an altogether different, and much more tame, travel experience ...
Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy joeleeisOk finally the trip to Bologna. My friends Jackie, Connie, and I went to Bologna and rode on the train there with one of my other friends Jenah and her friend Lauren. Getting the tickets was really funny because the train we were trying to catch was leaving in like 5 minutes when we bought the tickets. So we are about to run to the train, but then we realize that we have to get our tickets bunch, so we go back do ...
Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy bsbfanatikFirst, jet lag sucks! Second, the shower after 24 hours of traveling and about 20min of sleep is the best gift you can give yourself, followed by a glass of water and 2 sleeping pills. Now that that's out of the way; the whole group (50 of us) went to our welcome dinner tonight and after a wonderful serving of lasagna with a side of pasta with tomatoes and mushrooms - any place that serves pasta with sides of pasta gets an A - we were served the second course, not something ...
Bologna, Italy gojenngo... easy so we just said see you LATER! Which Dave told Lorenzo that he WILL make the trip, that is to Italy! We found our seats and got comfortable for a much more enjoyable, direct trip back to Perugia............and oh! by the way direct is NOT, NON STOP! Our stops from Bologna included Prato, Firenze, Arezzo, Terontola, then Perugia.
Bologna, Italy chella... introduction in a presentation room was the component processing area. Here in a very new and spacious building the employees were producing crank shafts, cylinder heads and cylinder blocks, with the factory floor also home to a dazzling collection of classic Ferrari models from various eras – intended to be an inspiration to the workers of the finished masterpieces they are each playing a part in creating.

After then passing through the paint ...
Maranello, Emilia-Romagna, Italy troywilkinsonThen off to Bologna. Francesco and Caterina treated us to a traditional Bologna meal of ... you can see the picture...meats, cheese, little snack breads. Then, we (I), pranced through downtown Bologna with the flag. Francesco was almost embarrassed, but as much as he loves Italian football, he loves America too. We ran into many of his friends and had a BLAST! Watched the game... carried on like crazy European's when the Americans scored ...
Bologna, Italy oddtoddJune 10, 2002

Back on the bus! This time to Italy!! We went to Pisa (and had pizza for lunch!) We saw the tower, of course, and the church. Got to shop in the souvenir shops and sit for awhile in the sun. Very peaceful day. I can tell I'm getting tired, because the travel journal entries are shorter and shorter!

We were in ...
