Sam slept/rested the entire flight and we were met by Wayan at the airport who took us to our hotel, The Royal Bali Beach Resort in Candidasa where Vick and Darryl had arrived just 20 mins ahead of us although their flight landed 1.5hrs before ours. We still cannot figure out what
happened to them but their road trip took almost twice as long …
... t be that surprised if we beat back the postcards too, so apologies for that!
Candidasa too, became the place where I got to listen to history being made, as I lay on my hotel room bed until the middle of the night and listened to the radio (the WiFi being insufficient to catch up with the live internet footage) of the Murray vs Djokovic Final of Wimbledon 2013! How has this hotel rated in the past?
Friendly and attentive staff, small enough resort to be friendly with other guests, big enough to enjoy the luxuries. Food by chef Dewar was sublime, the Duck Feast we had was the best ever. Spa very good and being in east Bali is so much quieter and more rural, we all loved it.
