... up by buying some more non essential stuff in Siam market and headed back to our hotel starving - this travelling business is actually quite hard work! Grumbling that our only option was room service; we found the hotel restaurant was still open and we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious our burgers, fries and freshly squeezed juices could be at 10pm at night! I know what you're thinking......"are we Americans...!?" ...
... quickly left the shop. After that little trauma, we eventually got to the station, collected our bags and got on the train to settle in to our beds for the night. We settled down but we were all in different compartments. I was in a compartment with a woman from sheffield with two children and the only man in the world who's genuine job was to sit all day next to loch ken in Scotland and search for the Loch Ness monster! Okay, that's it for now. You should hear from me again in a couple of months - from India, the land of adventure.
P.S. - Well, our little "winter" is already over. We're back to the usual unbearably hot weather again. Today the temperature hit a high of 35 degrees Celsius, or 95 degrees Fahrenheit. In January - the middle of the cool season! Now you know why I have to get myself to the cool mountains of India once a year.
