... way to Hua Hin's artist's village where we learned some basic Thai sketches and also some painting techniques.

The last day of excursions we visited a pineapple farm and ate fresh pineapple and then we made our way to the elephant sanctuary to feed the pineapples to the elephants. What amazing, smart and such emotional animals!

... of course I went for pad Thai with chicken, mm it was lush!! I washed it down with a bottle of coke and the whole meal only cost me £3!! Wish it was that cheap in England! ... Japanese couple who were sitting together also enjoying the view. Then it happened. This demure old lady started singing an aria in Japanese, perhaps a kami mono, singing of a sacred Shinto shrine or deity. Her voice was powerful carrying across the hill and causing chills down our spines. It was such a unique, unscripted moment that we still talk about.

... problem except for the not so friendly big black dog that set the adrenaline levels up a bit. Restaurant was lovely and our table was on sand overlooking the beach. A balmy evening with light breeze, candlelight on the table, with the glow of the squid boats on the horizon. ... monkeys sit on the bells, but I wanted to hear their tones. I mentioned this to my companion, and a young Thai man overheard and told us we could use one of the sticks that are placed there, but that each bell must be hit in sequence, avoiding none.
