... walking around the town which had changed quite a bit since we had been here 7 years ago. We had a nice bowl of noodle soup at lunch and than went into the nice new shopping where Andrea bought a nice new dress. ... big hotels. Guard on the gates as you drive in. Again on our stop there was only 1 family on the whole beach. There was what looked like cabins for hire, a bit like a retreat place that schools can go, like that airforce beach complex down at Evans Head. I actually saw what looked like a group of school kids being taken down to the beach by monks for class. Lovely tree lined beaches, no one around. There was a cafe/restaurant off the beach. ... you. Got to our hotel, very nice right in the centre of Hua Hin, we passed Ray and Tess's hotel on the way through. Put bags in room and then straight out for lunch. Managed to find a great place near the fishing port, and had a lovely roast lamb dinner with all the trimmings, followed by apple pie and custard. FANTASTIC. Will be putting on the pounds whilst here for the four days I'm sure. Met up with Ray and Tess that evening. It was so great to see a known ...

... large mesh trays laid with squid and fish, laying out in the sun to dry. I open my window to take a photo and the stench is unbelievable! I shut the window hastily and we put the air conditioning on full in the hope it clears the smell quickly. Phew! An impressive sight though!
